Press Release: VYTAWC receives $75K grant from EPA
Young Teen Asthma & Wellness Camp, Inc. (Birmingham, AL): The project will provide asthma self-management education and wellness activities to youth in three rural Alabama counties and statewide underserved populations of Medicaid recipients. The camp is provided by an interprofessional team from nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social work, physical therapy, nutrition, and medicine. School nurses will lead school-based teams of nurses, counselors, nutrition managers, coaches, and health science students from three rural schools. One hundred fifty (150) campers ages 12-15 in middle school will learn to manage their asthma and increase fitness and nutrition. Read more.
